There’s a state law on the books,South Dakota Codified Law 9-19-20, on what municipalities can and cannot do regarding guns. The law is explicit. Local authorities cannot restrict the possession of firearms.
A half dozen of the more than 40 public, privately managed buildings owned by the city of Sioux Falls have established gun-free zones. If a city-owned property isn’t privately managed, gun owners have the right to carry.
