I’ve been reading up on Ronald Reagan and the emergence of AIDS.

An article written by Carl M. Cannon, the editor of Real Clear Politics, challenges many errors in the historical record, some purposely propagated by leftists in attempts to smear the former president.

In it is the above quote, which though written in 2014, before the rise of Trump as politician, remains apt today.

The reality is that liberals and leftists use smears to demonize conservatives. They’ve been doing so for decades.

The first major victim was Goldwater. Then, there was Nixon, followed by Reagan. The next major target was Robert Bork.

And too often Republicans join the fray to appease the rabid mob and earn accolades in the media.
