The arrogance & ignorance of this quote makes me speechless

“The USA should, daily,
bow before Haiti
and thank it
for the lessons
it taught
in how to conceptualise
and create a democratic political and social order.”

I just don’t understand how anyone with any historical background can say this.

Obviously the speaker has little knowledge of the American founding. America in this regard owes Haiti and the Haitians nothing.

And then to learn the statement is from a vice chancellor and professor at a university!
