James Theodore Hill? What’s the connection?

A few days back I was notified that a relative had sent me a message on 23andMe. We share DNA on two segments of our chromosomes.

“My grandfather was born in Pennsylvania and his name was James Theodore Hill. I would guess that they were cousins! His family came over from the UK & my mother had shown me postcards from a restaurant that was owned by his family there, named Hill’s.”

I referred her to my results at the Hill DNA Project, which is using FamilyTreeDNA for its genetic testing. I am part of Group 27, which is a group of men who are related, all descended from a common man within the last 500 years or so.

I have asked her for a family tree to see if I can discover where our families connect.
