I became “politically aware” during high school, becoming more and more vocal about my opinions with time.

Upon graduation, I wanted to do something big, so I ran for mayor. I was a student at the community college at the time. The news created quite a buzz on campus and in my various circles, which included the youth group at the Foursquare church and my parents’ church, way down south near Turner.

Soon enough, I had gained a new nickname, Mr. Mayor. But being a novice at campaigns, of course, I lost the election.
