Seaweed bacon? Bacon seaweed? Call me skeptical.


The next big think in food may very well be seaweed that tastes like bacon. That’s what scientists at Oregon State’s Hatfield Marine Science Center are working towards.

I would like to try it and see if the claims are true, or at least close. I do like eating dried seaweed. It’s salty and quirky.

I guess we have the Japanese to thank for that. I wonder if my Viking ancestors ever ate the stuff.

The bacon-testing seaweed is currently labeled as C-3 dulse. They certainly need to come up with a better name.
