I didn’t even watch it. I had better things to do.
I will, however, be voting for Donald Trump because considering the alternative is a nightmare. Imagine President Hillary Rodham Clinton. No, thank you.
Sure, Trump is shallow and vain. He’s not a genius. He’s not even a policy wonk.
But I like that. That’s what we need. Fewer professional, careerist politicians and more citizen legislators.
And if we have buyer’s remorse then we can jettison him in four years, or even earlier if need be via impeachment.

“At the University of Chicago, where Bernie Sanders went to college, he spent hours imbibing socialism’s sacred canon: the writings of Karl Marx, Leon Trotsky and Eugene V. Debs, a socialist who ran for president five times.”

“Bernie is the better feminist . . . ” As am I. I’m a more solid and consistent feminist than Hillary Clinton, too.
I’m no socialist, but I don’t understand how the Democratic primary is even close. Bernie is by far the better candidate. I don’t agree with him on much. But he’s genuine and likable. And Hillary isn’t.
She’s scripted and rigid. She’s so uncreative, almost soulless. I think it has to do with being Bill’s significant other. She’s had to turn off her emotions and feelings, as much as humanly possible, just to survive. Otherwise, the betrayals and dishonesty and philandering would probably destroy her.
I’ve witnessed it. I know another woman who has been subjected to a similar situation, and it has made her cold and calculating. She, too, has rejected her feelings and emotions, as much as she can. And it ripples through people’s lives, like a wake that never subsides.
That ain’t the way it’s supposed to be.

Media mogul Ted Turner’s son Teddy is running for Congress. Teddy Turner’s run and his famous father have focused the media spotlight on the family and their relationship.
Unlike his dad, Teddy opposes same-sex marriage and is a global warming skeptic.
It’s a compelling story. I smiled when coming across the fact that Ted Turner wrote Teddy a note after appearing on Fox News.
Despite their political differences, the father and son are close. Teddy Turner told Politico that after his appearance with O’Reilly, he got the following note from his father: “I saw your interview with Bill O’Reilly on Fox,” it read, “and I thought you did a great job! I’m really proud of you, and I hope you win. Best of luck. Love, Dad.”
Before his father married Jane Fonda, Teddy says dad wasn’t a liberal.
“I was raised in a different time at the Turner household . . . a very conservative household with capitalism and all of that kind of stuff.”
It’s nice to see a loving father-son relationship, despite their many differences of opinion.
