RIP, Fox News’ Red Eye. I will miss thee. 📺

I have Fox News to thank for introducing me to the likes of Andrew Breitbart, Greg Gutfeld, Bill Schulz, Mike Baker, Jim Norton, and many other gems of humanity via its late night, early morning show Red Eye, which network execs have axed after a solid run just shy of a decade.

Sadly, Fox News needs more hip, relevant shows, not less. So the cancellation may signal a move in the wrong direction.

For a bit of nostalgia, just hit the YouTube. Thankfully, memorable clips of the show will live on.

History belongs
not to the seers
but rather
those with the best reflexes.”

This is from a piece by Chris Stirewalt of Fox News. The assassination of the Russian ambassador in Turkey has brought about much speculation and even some introspection. The headline is apt. History reasserts itself.

As It Should Be

Media mogul Ted Turner’s son Teddy is running for Congress. Teddy Turner’s run and his famous father have focused the media spotlight on the family and their relationship.

Unlike his dad, Teddy opposes same-sex marriage and is a global warming skeptic.

It’s a compelling story. I smiled when coming across the fact that Ted Turner wrote Teddy a note after appearing on Fox News.

Despite their political differences, the father and son are close. Teddy Turner told Politico that after his appearance with O’Reilly, he got the following note from his father: “I saw your interview with Bill O’Reilly on Fox,” it read, “and I thought you did a great job! I’m really proud of you, and I hope you win. Best of luck. Love, Dad.”

Before his father married Jane Fonda, Teddy says dad wasn’t a liberal.

“I was raised in a different time at the Turner household . . . a very conservative household with capitalism and all of that kind of stuff.”

It’s nice to see a loving father-son relationship, despite their many differences of opinion.
