Truth is constant

“TRUTH does not become more true
by virtue of the fact that the entire world agrees with it,
nor less so even if the whole world disagrees with it.”
— Maimonides
a Sephardic Jewish philosopher
who became one of the most prolific and influential
Torah scholars of the Middle Ages

The Problem with the World

Mr. Russell

“The whole problem
with the world
is that
fools and fanatics
are always so certain of themselves,
but wiser people
so full of doubts.”

A wonderfully insightful quote from Bertrand Russell.

Ever since hearing that Brit Stephen Fry admires him so, I’ve been thinking that I should learn more about the man.

He was imprisoned twice by the British government. I’ll have to read more about the particulars.

I hope we’ve moved past that kind of suppression. I fear that we, here in America and also in Britain, are not so lucky.

Despots lurk, never pausing to rest. We must be ever vigilant.
