I love my high school alma mater — Douglas McKay in Salem, Oregon. Some excellent memories made there. At the time I didn’t know that I was a descendant of a few Scots myself.

One of my ancestors, Samuel Goodell.

Grandpa Hill loved playing ball, as did his daughter Carol, my aunt.

I’m from Oregon. I grew up there. And sister & younger brother are grads of the University of Oregon. The coast, Silver Creek Falls State Park, and the town of Mt. Angel & the abbey are among my favorite places.

One of my Revolutionary War ancestors was named Martin Tidd. His father, John, died during the French and Indian War.

My mother’s grandparents came from a place called Bütow in a region called Pomerania within Germany. It is now within Poland, southwest of Gdańsk.

My great-great grandmother, Nettie Ann Boal. She died young, at the age of 26. I did an etching of her in one of my art classes.

I love Lando & I love Shaft.

This poster of Terry Porter, Buck Williams & Jerome Kersey used to hang on my wall. I need to find another one. I was a huge fan of the Portland Trailblazers during the Clyde Drexler and Arvydas Sabonis eras.
