This morning, as listening to music is part of what keeps me sane, I tapped on the Pandora app and began tapping through artists before settling on Simon and Garfunkel. The song was a demo version of Bridge Over Troubled Water.
I began to focus on the lyrics, which are almost biblical. I sure relate to them these days.
When you’re weary, feeling small,
I only seem to identify with the negative lines, however. I haven’t found my bridge yet.
When times get rough
And friends just can’t be found,
Of course, what’s strange is that I’m not alone in being seemingly alone. It’s very crowded out there.
When you’re down and out,
I’m not impressed by mankind, particularly those who profess to be Christians.
When darkness comes
And pain is all around,
Where is everyone?
