KILIÇ ARTIĞI
MASS MURDER IS GOOD
Erdoğan, strongman of Turkey and all-around prick, used the phrase “leftovers of the sword” the other day. In Turkish it is kılıç artığı. The background on this phrase is disturbing.
It is a commonly used insult in Turkey, referring to the survivors of the Christian massacres that mainly targeted Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians.
Of course, denial of Armenian genocide is a staple among Turkish propaganda. Even some Americans of Turkish descent have a problem admitting the truth of the ethnic cleansing. Think Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks.
This phrase, however, is much more than a mere denial of genocide. It is a defiant proclamation of pride in the murders of Christians and other minorities. It is a call to mass murder.
“Yes, we slaughtered Christians and other non-Muslims because they deserved it!”
